Even if you know you should, &#8220;Enjoy these cookies,&#8221; the well-intentioned freedom and encouragement are met with resistance and stress.<\/p>\n<p>If you know how to set up a balanced eating plan (think 80\/20 rule), there&#8217;s no need to hold back when you eat something that isn&#8217;t healthy. And yet, most people would still prefer healthy variations that trick your taste buds into enjoying what you eat without a second thought.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than buying goodies from the store\u2014you can create your own variations (in not much time)\u2014and still satisfy your sweet tooth without thinking anything other than, \u201c<i>Wow this is good.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>When I share recipes with my <a href=\"\/coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\">coaching clients<\/a>, a common favorite is no-bake protein cookies. The cookie dough-like dessert is easy to make and relatively quick to prepare. And since the government is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation-now\/2016\/06\/30\/fda-no-more-raw-cookie-dough-ever\/86544332\/\" target=\"_blank\">cracking down on cookie do<\/a>ugh, this recipe will give you more peace of mind. Consider them perfect for cheat days, weekdays, the holidays, or really any day. Dig in and enjoy.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>No-Bake Protein Cookies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Ingredients<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd cup cashew butter<\/li>\n<li>2 scoops <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honestnutrition.biotrust.com\/Shop.asp?s=&amp;View=Item&amp;Product=2409\" target=\"_blank\">protein powder <\/a>(I like BioTrust because it creates a thicker batter, but other options work too)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extra<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup old-fashioned oats<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup ground flaxseed<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup almond milk<\/li>\n<li>Optional: Add in some chocolate chips. This is if you want to make chocolate-chocolate chip cookies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Order of operations does not matter. Mix until it forms a thick, grainy, cookie-dough like batter. You don\u2019t want it to be too smooth or watery.<\/li>\n<li>Set out a piece of wax paper and scoop out a spoon-sized piece of cookie-dough. Roll into a ball and place on the wax paper.<\/li>\n<li>Place into the fridge or freezer (freezer if you want in about 20 minutes, fridge if you want to wait an hour)<\/li>\n<li>Eat and enjoy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For the macro-conscious eaters, depending on the size of your cookies you\u2019re looking at the following breakdown:\u00a0~140 calories, 10 grams protein, 8 grams fat, 8 grams carbs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s cookie dough without the guilt.
