{"id":5856,"date":"2021-06-16T16:30:38","date_gmt":"2021-06-16T23:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/?p=5856"},"modified":"2021-06-22T10:27:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T17:27:47","slug":"little-debbie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/little-debbie\/","title":{"rendered":"What I Learned From Little Debbie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Growing up, my parents didn\u2019t have crazy food rules.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t forced to eat any particular food, and I wasn\u2019t glued to the table until I finished my broccoli.<\/p>\n<p>But, there was one rule that stuck out: dessert was earned.<\/p>\n<p>If I wanted a treat at the end of the day, I had to eat healthy stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.<\/p>\n<p>If I checked those boxes, I earned dessert. Back in the day, those Little Debbie snacks were worth the compliance. I think food restriction is a bigger issue, as long as there are boundaries and guidelines on what you need to eat to achieve better health.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no shortage of diets, meal plans, and complicated formulas designed to support your health.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the 3 primary healthy eating outcomes it achieves:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>It\u2019s built around eating 80-90% non-treats (ideally, healthier options)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>It doesn\u2019t force foods<\/strong><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>It avoids restrictions while still creating limits.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>At some point, I stopped eating dessert every night and ditched Little Debbie. But, she served me well and helped me build a great relationship with food.<\/p>\n<p>This might not be your end goal, but if you\u2019re looking for a place to start, The Little Debbie plan might be a good fit for you.
