It&#8217;s the perfect option for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert.<\/p>\n<h2>Why it\u2019s a Healthy Recipe<\/h2>\n<p>Not only are apples lower in sugar compared to tropical fruits, they\u2019re also full of pectin, a combination fiber that has a long list of health benefits. It can help with weight control to lowering cholesterol to preventing gallstones.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of regular yogurt, we used Greek yogurt, which is loaded with more protein and also contains probiotics, which promote beneficial gut flora. This good bacteria will keep your immune system strong and can also help with digestive issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3951 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cinnamon-apple-yogurt-ingredients.png\" alt=\"cinnamon apple yogurt ingredients\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cinnamon-apple-yogurt-ingredients.png 900w, https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cinnamon-apple-yogurt-ingredients-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Serving size: 1 parfait (1 serving)<\/p>\n<p>Cook time: 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Difficulty: Easy<\/p>\n<h3>Apple mixture:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 apple*, sliced very thinly<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp. ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. grass-fed butter**<\/li>\n<li>1 lemon, freshly squeezed<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp. Truvia, or sweetener of choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For the yogurt:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 c non-fat Greek yogurt, plain<\/li>\n<li>Sweet Leaf Stevia drops (~25 drops), vanilla cr\u00e8me flavor***<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For the protein granola:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd c oats<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp. almond slices<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp. ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp. egg whites<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. honey<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp. Truvia<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tbsp. ground flax<\/li>\n<li>Nutmeg, to taste<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd-1 scoop vanilla protein powder [optional]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*We used Fuji apple, but any crisp apple would work just fine here.<\/p>\n<p>**We used Kerrygold Pure Irish grass-fed butter.<\/p>\n<p>***You can substitute this with \u00bd tsp. vanilla extract and 1 tsp. Truvia, or sweetener of choice.<\/p>\n<h2><em>\u00a0<\/em>Directions<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 375 degrees; Spray a cookie sheet with coconut oil or cover with a sheet of parchment paper to prevent sticking. In a small bowl, combine all of the protein granola ingredients, and toss to coat evenly. Spread the mixture flat on the cookie sheet, and bake for 8 minutes. After 8 minutes, break up the granola pieces with a spatula or large spoon and bake for another 8 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile in a small saut\u00e9 pan on medium heat, add all the ingredients of the apple mixture. Stir continuously as the apples soften and the flavors develop, about 5 to 8 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, combine the non-fat Greek yogurt and the Stevia drops. Stir until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble the parfait. For presentation purposes only, a glass cup, martini glass or clear coffee glass mug would work well. Layer 1 tbsp. of granola, then a small scoop of yogurt then the apples and more granola. There\u2019s no exact science to this step, just continue layering, and have fun with it.
