Whether it&#8217;s the deceptively unhealthy &#8220;100-calorie&#8221; packs, or offices providing fuel that tastes greats and leaves you feeling like crap a few hours later, it&#8217;s not easy to find what your body needs&#8230;and enjoys.\u00a0Enter protein almond snack balls.<\/p>\n<p>This no-bake recipe, created by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livoutloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liv Langdon<\/a>, can be made\u00a0quickly at home, stores easily at work, tastes great, and fuels your body with the type of nutrition you want and need during the day.<\/p>\n<h2>Born Fitness Recipes:\u00a0Protein Almond Snack Balls<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Fitness goal:\u00a0<\/strong>Muscle gain, fat loss, maintenance, or because you&#8217;re hungry<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allergies:<\/strong>\u00a0nuts (from\u00a0almonds), whey (if that&#8217;s your choice of protein powder)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paleo friendly:<\/strong>\u00a0Yes<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to make it vegetarian friendly:<\/strong>\u00a0No adjustments needed; just choose protein powder accordingly<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prep time:<\/strong>\u00a010 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Cook&#8221; time:<\/strong>\u00a010 minutes<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tbsp all-natural almond butter<\/li>\n<li>1 scoop protein powder of choice (vanilla, chocolate or no flavor is best in this recipe)<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes (keep 1 tbsp aside for dipping)<\/li>\n<li>Cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp cacao powder\u00a0 (uns. cocoa powder is OK, but less micronutrient benefits; cacao is one of the most concentrated sources of magnesium)<\/li>\n<li>Crushed almonds<\/li>\n<li>3 whole almonds<\/li>\n<li>Coconut oil, unrefined, cold-pressed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Make Protein Almond Snack Balls<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In a bowl, combine all ingredients except for the last two (using your hands is totally acceptable; just make sure you wash them first.)<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl or plate, pour remaining coconut flakes and cinnamon. Set aside for dipping.<\/li>\n<li>Rub a little coconut oil in your palms to prevent the mixture from sticking to your hands when you roll into balls.<\/li>\n<li>Take 1\/3 of the mix, and roll into \u00bd dollar sized balls. Then dip and roll into the coconut-cinnamon mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Place one whole almond on each protein ball. Place in freezer for 10 minutes before serving. Then eat.
