It works as lunch, dinner, a snack, a side, and has so many variations that there&#8217;s something for everyone. Not to mention, if you have a slow cooker, it requires\u00a0no cooking talent to make a delicious meal. (Note: I think everyone should own a slow cooker; has too much value and is possibly the easiest cooking device ever created.) You just need the wherewithal to throw ingredients in a pot 6 to 8 hours before you want to eat. Toss in the fact that you have to work to make it unhealthy, and it&#8217;s hard to argue against chili. This recipe is a Born Fitness special, as it tosses in one of my favorite ingredients: sweet potatoes. Dig in and enjoy. -AB<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Born Fitness Recipes: High Protein Sweet Potato Chili<\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span> (makes 4 servings)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pound\u00a0ground turkey or beef<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 pound\u00a0boneless, skinless chicken breast<\/li>\n<li>3 medium sweet potatoes, diced<\/li>\n<li>1 (14.5 ounce) can\u00a0diced tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>1 can\u00a0tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup diced sweet onion<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup\u00a0chopped celery<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup\u00a0water<\/li>\n<li>2 diced jalapeno peppers<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon\u00a0chili powder<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon\u00a0ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>2 shakes of\u00a0salt<\/li>\n<li>2 shakes of\u00a0ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>3 shakes of cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon\u00a0garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon\u00a0onion powder<\/li>\n<li>1 can\u00a0black beans, drained and rinsed<\/li>\n<li>1 pat coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>Optional: avocado<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Directions<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Chop up all the vegetables. (Boring but necessary)<\/li>\n<li>Place sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion, celery, water, chili powder, cumin, jalapenos, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a slow cooker. Cook on high, stirring occasionally, for 5 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, place in a pat of coconut oil and cook ground beef until desired preparedness (should take about 10 minutes for medium)<\/li>\n<li>Preheat over to 400 degrees and cook chicken for 25 to 30 minutes.
