From eggs and chicken sausage, to waffles, pancakes, and french toast, it&#8217;s hard to go wrong with any morning meal favorite. The problem? Many carb loaded breakfast foods clock in at thousands of calories, and there&#8217;s nothing about them that would even come close to qualifying at healthy.<\/p>\n<p>Enter protein pancakes, and in particular chocolate peanut butter protein pancakes.<\/p>\n<p>This recipe has everything you want: The carb-loaded goodness of pancakes, but with a nutrient profile that makes you go, &#8220;I can actually eat these guilt-free!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy these on a weekend, before or after a workout, or any time you just want to enjoy breakfast without a second thought.<\/p>\n<h2>Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Pancakes<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 scoop whey protein powder (approximately 25 grams protein) [for mine, I used 2 scoops of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honestnutrition.biotrust.com\/Shop.asp?s=&amp;View=Item&amp;Product=2409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biotrust vanilla<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons almond flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons\u00a0non-fat greek yogurt<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon chocolate peanut butter (you can sub out for regular peanut butter)<\/li>\n<li>4 egg whites<\/li>\n<li>1 ripe banana (medium sized)<\/li>\n<li>Optional topping: additional sliced banana<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Combine all ingredients into a mixer and blend together until thick and creamy consistency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Set a burner on medium high heat and coat the pan with butter or low calorie spray.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Pour pancake batter into palm size onto skillet or pan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_12371998.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2403 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_12371998.jpg\" alt=\"pancakes on griddle\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Flip pancakes and then lower the heat to medium-low.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_96239513.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2404 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_96239513.jpg\" alt=\"pancakes ready\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_96239513.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.bornfitness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shutterstock_96239513-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> Plate your pancakes and serve.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Nutrition Information:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>[Macros for the <em>entire<\/em> serving size]<\/h3>\n<p>430 calories<\/p>\n<p>45 grams protein<\/p>\n<p>30 grams carbs (without added sliced banana)<\/p>\n<p>13 grams fat<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t eat breakfast very often, but breakfast foods are one of my favorite things to eat.
