First of all a quick shout out to Glen who pointed me to this article (why aren’t there any more comments?).

Secondly this article is to show one thing: like almost always in life: don’t listen to ‘what some experts say’ but ‘listen to your body’. I think the message of this article is that you should do what’s right *for you*. And don’t listen to the myths.
Make up your own mind, listen to your inner voice (not the one in your head – the one in your gut) and eat what your body really wants and when he wants it.

Also learn to chew correctly. We have a researcher in Germany who dedicated his career to a natural way of eating. It has nothing to do with how many times you chew your food but how you can fully assimilate the nutrients – thus even being able to eat chocolate and cake without raising insulin levels (3 scientific studies have now been published about this). If you understand german and want to know more about this his website is schmauen.com (which is an acronym, schmauen is ‘enchewing’ = enjoy chewing) (sorry, enchewing is already copyrighted).

Anyways: there is lots to learn about yourself and your body and you should trust your inner voice more. It’s good to learn from others to not make mistakes that have already been made but when in doubt listen to your gut and act on it. That’s the balance you want in your life.
