Totally agree with you that one of the best ways to increase your bench press would be to focus on other muscles involved in the liftl. LIke on your back and triceps for a while… also your shoulders.
Whenever someone asks me for advice on their bench plateau I usually recommend them to forget about the bench for a while and replace it a variation of it, also tell them to work on the other muscles involved in the BP…. anyways this was a good read, so goodos 🙂

Front delts getting in the action is what I find is an issue. Also when I flat bench, not sure if anyone else gets this, but if the ceiling has lines on it, not in line with the bench press, it makes my bench press slant.
